Grade K-5 Curriculum Map BUNDLE

This is my 7th year as a K-5 LMS. I'm currently creating library curriculum which aligns with Common Core national reading standards, AASL national library standards, and the ISTE national technology standards. My ultimate goal is to create curriculum in which reading and literature drive authentic, educational learning experiences strengthened via technology integration, EDU Breakout sessions, STEAM/STREAM challenges, MakerSpace activities, Habits of Mind, reading incentive programs, etc.

My first step was to create a guiding curriculum map for each Grade. Essential Questions drive each month's learning activities, creating a seamless "theme" for students. Below each month’s essential question, four categories are bulleted:
• Classroom Connections: classroom curriculum which aligns with Common Core, ensuring the library is an extension of classroom learning
• Library Skills: standard library curriculum premised on building that foundation for the love of reading and literature while equipping students with essential 21st century learning skills (AASL aligned)
• MakerSpace (including Lego) and STEAM/STREAM: hands-on, constructive challenges and activities which are LITERATURE based
• TELEs (Technology Enriched Learning Experiences): Use of technology including library databases, online resources and databases, G Suite (Google integration), and other educational resources and apps.

The purpose of the curriculum map is to provide a guiding framework or SNAPSHOT of K-5 library lessons and curriculum from September-May.
