What educators are saying

This is an incredible resource for analyzing the results of the CKLA BOY test. Thank you SO much for making this!
I cannot even tell you how helpful this resource is! Scoring the assessment for 60+ students and trying to analyze the data without this was way too overwhelming! This saved me!

Description

*Major update, September 2021: 30 students, greater functionality, AND an individual student report page!*

This is an Excel workbook that will help you track and analyze the results of CKLA Grade 4, Unit 1 assessments. The beginning-of-year tests include 3 reading comprehension selections, one grammar and one morphology assessment, an extensive 65-word Word Reading in Isolation test (see my separate tracker for this in detail!), plus a fluency passage. Whew!

In this zip file are two PDFs (the assessment directions in first and second edition), an Excel (macro-enabled) document, and a macro-free Excel version because I'm new to macros and if the original one gives you trouble, there's one without my attempts at being fancy!

After you get through the 3+ days of assessment at the start of the year, use this document to help you keep track of all 5 test results, get some automatic color-coding and counts back, see all the results on one page, and have a printable report for each student. There is so much information to be gleaned, it can be overwhelming! I hope this tracker helps you get a good sense of your students' abilities and gaps much more quickly than manual analysis would. Enjoy - and please let me know if I can help you in any way!

First vs. second edition: thankfully, the assessments are the same whether you're using second edition (from Amplify) or first edition (via Core Knowledge).
