Description
The Grade 1, Unit 2: Personal Safety and Injury Prevention activity packet is aligned with the Ontario Grade 1 Health and Physical Education curriculum expectations. With this unit, students are asked to think about what it means to be safe and what it means to prevent injuries. Students explore how they can ensure their personal safety, and where they can go if they are feeling unsafe. Students also explore the difference between caring behaviours and exploitive behaviours. Students explore safety in the school environment and what it looks like, and how they can take an active role in their own safety at school. Students, finally, explore how they can stay safe and avoid injuries to themselves and others in a variety of situations.
Please note that this resource does contain a few activities that have longer sentences, and more words. These activities are meant to be completed as a whole group, or explored prior to allowing students work independently.
