Description

The Numeracy Progression Assessment is given three times per year. Ideally, September, February and June. There are three different tests that assess the progression of bench marked Numeracy Skills per grade level. Each test comes with a student rubric for reporting. See below for listed outcomes assessed for each test.

Test 1
- Say numbers from 1-10 at any start point
- Subitize a set of objects to 1-5
- Relate a numeral from 1-10 with a quantity
- Represent and describe numbers from 2-10
- Compare quantities from 1-10.

Test 2 & Test 3
- Say the number sequence 0 to 100
- Subitize (recognize at a glance) and name familiar arrangements of 1 to 10 objects or dots
- Demonstrate an understanding of counting
- Represent and describe numbers to 20, concretely, pictorially and symbolically
- Compare sets containing up to 20 elements
- Estimate quantities to 20 by using referents
- Demonstrate an understanding of conservation of number
- Identify the number, up to 20, that is one more, two more, one less, two less than a given number
- Demonstrate an understanding of addition of numbers with answers to 20 and their corresponding subtraction facts, concretely, pictorially and symbolically
- Describe and use mental mathematics strategies for basic addition facts and related subtraction facts to 18.
- Recall addition facts to 5
- Recall related subtraction facts to 5
