Description

A great way to introduce the chapter, wrap up the chapter, buffer some time between your last bit of notes and the test, close out Friday or liven up Monday, this student-centered, technology-based, engaging activity will have you covered. I love these to start and end units or break from the notes. These make for easy planning on a Monday or Friday. I've found that this activity helps students engage, collaborate, build their skills and knowledge of the content and they actually enjoy doing them.

Bring technology in to the classroom and send your students off on a virtual tour of some of the most famous and most notable sites of the Italian Renaissance. Students will use Google Earth to search, observe and discover various details about some of these famous Renaissance sites before being asked to draw their own conclusions regarding what they can help us infer about the social, political and religious nature of the Renaissance. Whether your'e looking for a boredom buster, a shake up to help break the monotony of guided notes, or just looking to incorporate some technical and geographic skills into your bag of tricks, this lesson is for you. I've used this for seven years with my high school World Social Studies courses and they are some of my student's favorite activities.
