What educators are saying

We used this to work on retelling. The play dough mats were a student favorite and they helped me see who remembered the key details of the story. Very engaging!

Description

Extend your Goldilocks and the 3 Bears Fairy Tale unit with playdoh activities that allow children to practice Numbers 1-10, teen numbers, story re-telling, sequencing, and fine motor skills. These Goldilocks and the 3 Bears playdoh mats can be used for both math and literacy centers and stations when you are working on fairy tales. These playdoh activities will also encourage children to talk about, re-tell, and sequence the Goldilocks story through hands on play.

In this resource, you will find:

- Individual Playdoh mats for Numbers 1-10

- Number Cards 1-10

- 3 playdoh mats with a single 10 frame; children chose a number card then make that number of either bowls of porridge, trees, or spoons

- Number Cards 11-20

- 3 playdoh mats with double 10 frames, children chose a number card then make that number of either bowls of porridge, trees, or spoons

- 7 Story-focused Goldilocks playdoh mats

- 4 Early Sequencing (differentiated) Goldilocks playdoh mats

  • 2 mats with visual support
  • 2 mats without visual support

- 6 Size-focused differentiated Goldilocks Playdoh mats (small, medium, large)

  • 3 mats with visual support
  • 3 mats without visual support

- Assessment sheets (2)

The number mats can be used as a math station, while the story/character mats are a hands on, kinaesthetic literacy station activity. All of these Goldilocks playdoh mats provide engaging activities that encourage talk that leads to improved writing outcomes.

Your class will love making different objects associated with the Goldilocks fairy tale - both on the number mats, and as part of the story mats.
