Goldilocks and the Three Bears: Reader's Theater for Grades 1 and 2

A 3 page, 5 part reader's theater script for the folk tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The script is written with primary students in mind and contains parts for Emergent to Fluent readers as follows:

o High Emergent (roughly DRA 4-8): Goldilocks, Baby Bear, Papa Bear

o Transitional (roughly DRA 12-18): Mama Bear

o Fluent (roughly DRA 20+): Narrator

This allows children to work with classmates who may not be in their reading groups and makes for a nice change. It also allows fluent readers to model good reading habits and lets struggling readers participate in reading "meatier" text.

There are 6 copies of the script, a master plus 5 more which have the individual part highlighted. This allows the teacher to just hand out the scripts without needing any further prep work. If you need more copies or would like to combine/divide parts or only have access to a black and white photocopier, the master is provided.

Also includes full page, color images of each character which students can use to make hats or neck signs to identify their part to the audience.
