Gold Rush Research Project | Colonial Life in Australia

Students will ove this independent research task on Australian Gold Rushes! Students will use a 4-part research guide to research an Australian Gold Rush of their choice. The differentiated information text will provide your students with a great starting point by providing background information about the gold rushes in general. Students then have the opportunity to plan and conduct a multimodal presentation about their chosen goldfield.

Four Part Research Guide:

• Part one: Identifying inquiry questions
• Part two: Locating historical sources
• Part three: Answering your questions using RAPS
• Part four: Developing your multimodal presentation
• Assessment rubric x 2 (project content and presentation)
• An information text and PCQ have been added to introduce your students to the experiences of Aboriginal Peoples during the Gold Rush.
