Description
Instead of using surveys this year to get to know your students, try incorporating glyphs into your classroom! Glyphs are pictorial forms of data collection. Glyph is a fun way in which to connect math to other content areas.
Students color and draw on their glyph according to the directions on the direction page. Then, students are able to read the glyphs and collect data about the topics for the glyph. This pack includes 4 glyphs with options and 49 graphing templates.
Save 50% when you purchase these products as a bundle! If you were to purchase all of these products separately, you would spend $18!
Once glyphs are completed, students find ways to display the class data - bar graphs, pie graphs, pictographs, tables, etc.... To make it easy, to do this...I've included multiple graphs, tables and plots for students to display their data. I like to assign groups to one specific data set. For easy data collection and a cute display, hang up all glyphs on a bulletin board.
Another activity would be to write facts from the glyphs on sentence strips. For example, "About half of the class loves pizza," or "Only 3/23 students do not like to read."
Lastly, this is a good way for students to introduce each other to the class! They have to use the glyph to figure out information about their partner.
