Description

Here's an activity that really gets students to not just cite evidence but to make the next step and start to analyze that evidence by constructing an argument. While it's probably best used in a Global classroom or as preparation for a Global History Regents examination, it concludes with a writing activity based on the Part 2 essay for the Common Core English Regents exam--a great product for some humanities collaboration!

The topic for this activity is Peter the Great and his transformative actions for Russian government and society. But, does he really deserve the title of "Great"? That's for your students to decide!

Note: The textbook that is referenced is the AGS World History textbook, ISBN: 0-7854-6405-0, although you can certainly use whatever textbook you have on hand with a bit of adaptation to the directions for Part B.
