What educators are saying

My 8th graders absolutely loved learning this song. It was so attainable and familiar for them, which made for a really fun class.

Description

Compare and contrast the music of Chopin, Debussy, and Beethoven with that of Alicia Keys with this bucket drumming activity! Students will learn some brief background information on Alicia Keys, listen to samples of "old" music in Keys' music, and end with a bucket drumming play-along to her hit single, Girl on Fire.

This activity would be perfect to celebrate Black History Month, Women's History Month, or just to use as a fun way to incorporate more popular music into your classroom.
