These get-to-know-you questions are the perfect way to get to know your students this back-to-school season. It's the perfect ice-breaker for students to share and get to know each other!
What’s included?
There are 40 slides with get-to-know you questions. Use one a day and get to know your students all month long. It also includes eight additional blank slides where you can create your own question. Some sample questions are:
- Tell 3 things you did this summer.
- If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be?
- If you could have any kind of pet, what would you pick? Why?
- Tell 3 or 4 things you like to play with your friends.
- What movies did you watch this summer?
Please note: This resource is a PowerPoint. You can move the order of the slides, however, you cannot edit them (except for adding text on the blank slides.)
Virtual or In-Class Use
Use these virtually by sharing your screen and asking students to share. Use these slides to have students practice the procedures and routines you are trying to establish at the beginning of your virtual school year. For example, it's the perfect way to practice breakout rooms. Ask a question and have students go in breakout rooms for a minute or two.
If you are using these in class, you can project the question and students share their answers either to the whole class or in a small group. You can also print the slides and post the questions around the room. Then have students carousel around the room answering questions in small groups.
