Students will learn about cognitive distortions that impact self-esteem and anxiety. Discover different types of automatic negative thinking and change it to positive thinking. Now includes a digital version for use with Google Slides. Great for small group counseling or class lessons.
This activity takes about 30 minutes to complete with a small or large group. The goal is for students to recognize their irrational thinking.

►Activity description including instructions/walk-through of activity, objectives, materials, tips/tricks, ASCA standards, and SEL competencies.
►1 page of different types of Automatic Negative Thoughts (A.N.T.'s)
►1 page of Picnic Basket
►5 pages of Automatic Negative Thought examples (40 total cards)
►5 pages of Student response cards (to be glued to the back of the ANT cards).
►1 page of blank ANT cards to create your own or have students create their own.
►1 page of discovering your own ANTs.
►Black and white version included.
