What educators are saying

Excellent resource!! What a great way to introduce the life and art of Georgia O'Keeffe. Such a great lesson included for my 3rd-5th graders!
This resource worked great for my kindergarten and grade one classes. Having a powerpoint with background information about the artist and examples of the steps was really helpful. Thank you!

Description

This presentation teaches about the life and art of Georgia O'Keeffe - famous for huge paintings of flowers, bones and desert. The presentation includes artist's biography shortened to main points to keep it interesting for young children. It also includes samples of O'Keeffe's work.
Second part of the presentation is a step by step guide for the O'Keeffe inspired art lesson. The students will create a flower drawing while learning color theory and practicing some blending skills. The slides explain how to choose colors to create a blend as well as how to blend the colors together. Material list is included. Best results will be with oil pastels, as they are very vibrant and mix well, but crayons might be used to substitute.
The presentation is designed to be shown on the overhead projector.
