Description

Gender Stereotyping is an important concept for students to understand.

This lesson gets students discerning common gender stereotypes in society and thinking about how to make the world more equitable.

Students watch 2 short videos on gender stereotyping and complete the activities. Answer key included. Click the play button or highlighted text to access videos.

Next, students read common opinions, statements and decide if they are gender stereotypes or not. Also, discuss common workplace gender stereotypes.

Lastly, students write a persuasive essay defending or supporting the use of dress codes at school or in the workplace.

Also includes:

1. Venn Diagram / Template to brainstorm stereotypes and gender differences

2. Discussion questions for a group/pairs.

3. Words/adjectives. Match the adjectives. What is the stereotype?
