inspirational videos and some REALLY FUN brain exercises!

Resources include:

Video links and 6 brain exercise puzzles to print and use with your students.

• “What is Math”

Students will be surprised to learn what math is NOT! Teach them that math is the study of patterns. Discuss the ways in which mathematicians work, which is the focus of the next several lessons.

• “Mathematicians Work Collaboratively”

We learn from each other! Students will learn the importance of working collaboratively. Creating and assessing group norms will set the tone for outstanding group work throughout the year!

Resources include:

Participation Quizzes, a printable group evaluation self-evaluation, 4 collaborative printable activities, and video links to more mathematical riddles and puzzles to solve collaboratively.

• “Valuable Mistakes and Fabulous Feedback”

Teach students that mistakes are a positive thing!! Show students that many of the people they look up to have failed (many times), yet persevered to become very successful.
