Description

I use this activity in my Algebra 1 class at the end of the year to compare basic properties of the four types of functions covered throughout the course work before the End of Course State Assessment.

Throughout the school year the students have had to look at various representations of these functions like: definitions, tables, graphs, real world problems, & equations.

This is a good activity as a refresher and will help the students recognize the different types of functions and be able to get the main idea of how they differ.

The students cut out all of the pieces on the first sheet of paper and glue them in the proper place on the second sheet.

(These are equations, tables and graphs are not related to each other! I thought it was important that the students not rely on their graphing skills and ability to make tables from equations to figure these out. Being able to recognize these four types of functions no matter what way the information is presented to them was my priority.)

Enjoy!
