Fun Statistics Research Survey Project | Standards-Based | Math 9 BC
Description
This is a great math project to add to a unit on data and statistics. It is a great way for students to do a project on something that is important to them and they get a chance to present their individual work, which is rewarding.
Description:
Tell students they will be conducting a survey on. They should pick a topic and question that has some significance to them, their family, or their culture. Students will:
- Write a research question and a prediction.
- Describe the population, sampling technique, and data collection method.
- Collect and analyze data
- Display their data on a graph and summarize the results.
- Present their project.
- Write a self reflection and complete a self-assessment.
What’s Included:
1. Detailed rubric (based on competencies)
2. Timeline for project
3. Student Self-Reflection Questions (students choose 2 of 5 options)
4. Self-Assessment Page
5. Exemplar Project
Everything comes in .PDF and .docx so you can edit to meet your individual students' needs.
