What educators are saying

Great resource. I have been using this with my second graders that did not have Fundations last year and it is super helpful.
I’m excited to use this product this year as homework. It will definitely give students extra practice reading and it aligns perfectly to the phonics program I use.

Description

Here is a set of weekly blending lines and dictation paper for Units 2-14 of Level 1 Fun Phonics. What are blending lines? They are simply lines of words/sentences that kids read through nightly to practice their decoding skills. This is the perfect way to increase word and sentence level fluency!

Reading Practice: On the front, students will practice decoding words. Each page of blending lines contains

  • Review words (words you've already covered)
  • New words (words from your current unit)
  • Trick words (current trick words and review trick words)
  • Sentences
  • Challenge words

Spelling Practice: On the reverse, there is dictation paper included. A grown up should read words from the blending lines front. The child then writes the word on the paper, using the sky line, plane line, and worm line for proper formation.

Extras:

  • Introduction letter to parents explaining the homework routine
  • Helpful tips for how parents can help their child at home
  • Blank blending lines template to make your own!

This is an amazing homework routine, but you can also use in class as well! Copy weekly or combine/bing into a packet/journal.
