What educators are saying

I was looking for a resource to assist my students who struggled with upper and lowercase letter recognition and font differences. This resource absolutely fit the bill!

Description

This download includes PDF files.

The files are:
-SORT CHARTS (2, 3, and 4 column charts)
-NUMBER SORT (6 fonts for each including a digital font) and SHAPE SORT (12 shapes)
-6 VERSIONS OF THE FULL ALPHABET FONT SORT. Each includes 6 capital letters, 6 lower case letters, in 6 different fonts (including serif and san serif)
These are the different copies of the alphabet in 6 different PDF files:
-black and white with no underline
-black and white with underline
-Montessori colors (red consonants, blue vowels), with no underline
-Montessori colors with underline
-Montessori colors reversed (blue consonants, red vowels), with
no underline
-Montessori colors reversed with underline
-TEACHING GUIDE which has activity suggestions aligned to standards.
Kingergarten activities support Common Core Standards
Preschool and ESL support Arizona standards.

Note: the underlined versions are helpful when comparing similar letters such as "p" and "d".

I used this to help my preschooler identify lower and uppercase letters. It also helped her learn to identify words in print that are written in various fonts. You can also use this activity with older children to identify vowels and consonants, or with ESL students (English Language Learners).
