Fruits and their Trees / Plants and Flowers Categorization and Matching Activity
Description
Children love to know where their food comes from. This versatile activity is a great way to teach children how different fruits grow while working on matching, categorization, and memorization skills.
This set comes with 20 different fruits and their corresponding plants and flowers: apple, avocado, banana, blackberry, blueberry, cherry, grapes, kiwi, lemon, mango, olives, orange, papaya, peach, pear, pineapple, plum, raspberry, strawberry, and watermelon.
There are many ways to use these cards. They come with fruit, plant, and flower labels so you can categorize them while you match the fruit with their plant and flower. For younger children, try introducing only a few fruit with plants that look quite distinct from one another to aid with visual discrimination. Introduce flowers if children are interested. You can add more fruit or their flowers as the children master this activity.
Simply print, cut along the dotted lines, and laminate! This activity also comes with miniature fruit that you can print on the backside of the cards to easily identify the plants and flowers once cut into cards (some of the trees and flowers look similar, so identifying the cards on the backside can be really helpful). You must have double-sided printing capabilities for this feature.
This is a fantastic activity in the warmer months if children are growing vegetable gardens or going on field trips to fruit farms, but can really be a staple all year round.
Thank you, and enjoy!
