What educators are saying

This is a fantastic product. My students loved the videos and games. What a fun and engaging way for students to build vocabulary and develop their reading skills. Merci!
This is perfect for early literacy/young primary students learning to read. The high frequency sight words are very relevant. Always nice to make learning to read more "fun" by incorporating games!

How can you use the games and videos in your classroom?

    You can:

    • Watch the videos as a whole group activity.
    • Have students play the games individually, in pairs, small groups, and even whole class.
    • Assign the videos as an independent literacy centre activity. For example, listen to reading.
    • Use version A of the videos to introduce the words. Play the corresponding Sight Word Games, then use version B of the videos to assess how well students learned the words.
    • Play the video as a school day capper. In other words, as an activity to end the school day and have students leave school feeling energized.
    • Add the games to an independent literacy centre activity. For example, a reading station.
    • Create an early finisher corner with the games.
    • Play the games to assess how much students retained from watching the Sight Word videos.
    • And so many other uses.

    What's in this new bundle?

There are 2 parts to it:

    • Videos: students watch to read and repeat the words that show up on the screen. This will help them read the words correctly because of the audio component of the videos: they listen to the words being spoken.
    • Printable Games: after working on reading the words with the videos, students can play games to reinforce the words they practiced. Games are a fun way to make students repeat words many, many times without noticing it!

Do not buy this bundle if:

    • You'd prefer to choose how to group the sight words. I won't be able to change the videos nor the board games to adapt them to another list of words.
    • You'd like the words to have articles and/or images to illustrate the meaning of the words. So, for example, you’ll see words like “chat”, “lune”, etc, and not “un chat”, “la lune” because the videos are about reading words and not about teaching vocabulary. And there is NOT an image of a cat, or of the moon to illustrate the words.
    • Your school blocks Vimeo. The videos are hosted on Vimeo and there isn't, at this time, another way for me to share them.
    • You'd prefer to download the videos. At this time, that's not possible.
    • The Internet at your school is unreliable. Internet is needed to watch the videos.
