What educators are saying

My students loved using this resource. I made it into a game and they loved being able to read fluently each line. Great resource, merci!
I love love love all Mme Caroline's resources. I use these as well as her other decodable resources with my reading intervention groups. I feel like I always have something for us to use when need arises. I just print and teach. Thank you!

Description

Make teaching reading a breeze with these sentence pyramids, aligned with the Science of Reading in French! This pack includes a total of 60 sentence pyramids - perfect for building reading fluency with your French students!

When using these fluency sentences, your students will learn to segment and decode more effortlessly. The pyramid nature of this resource allows them to focus on decoding one word at a time, and the cut & paste portion allows them to show their French reading comprehension.

According to the French Science of Reading, in order to be successful in reading, students need to have decoding skills as well as comprehension skills. These French sentence pyramids allow your students to work on these two skills at the same time.

If your students know their French letter sounds and accents, then this resource is perfect. It's developmentally appropriate for your students because it isn't full of complex sounds they don't know how to read yet.

Here's what you'll get on each page:

  • 4 sentence pyramids - keep them working for longer
  • 6 images for students to cut & paste - great for checking understanding!
  • Heart words - high frequency words that aren't easily decodable
  • a total of 60 sentence pyramids included in the resource

These activities are perfect to use in your French literacy block, in small groups or in any type of literacy centres for primary French Immersion students and Core French students. They can also best be used for morning work, early finishers, or substitutes.

Great for:

  • Early readers
  • Struggling readers / at risk readers
  • Early French Immersion
  • Primary Core French
  • and more!
