Question du Jour
A great way to review concepts, vocabulary, and encourage sentence-building and conversation practice, as well as convenient attendance monitoring!
There are enough questions for a new one every day of the school year.
- Print, cut and laminate the questions and answer cards (HINT: laminate questions back to back to save time, laminate, and storage space)
- Laminate blank table page - cut on lines - write each student’s name on a card (permanent marker can be removed from laminate with a white eraser at the end of the year)
- Attach magnets to the back of the students’ name cards if using on a magnetic surface. (use sticky blue tack for questions if you laminate back to back)
- Each morning, put up a question, and some answer options - choose questions relevant to the unit of study (e.g. seasons, animals etc)
- As students enter, they put their name under the option they choose.
- You can easily see who is absent because their name will not be under an answer.
- Practice oral communication by having students ask and answer the question with a partner (or mingle to music and practice with various partners)
