Description

This interactive flipchart for Promethean/Activ Board is a great French lesson for teaching french greetings. After listing the objectives, the lesson opens with a review of French pronunciation. The next page teaches introduces the color coded vocabulary terms. This flipchart contains interactive games that students may play on the Activ Board. These games include: One or Two?, Matching, Spelling Sliders, and Jibber Jabber. After playing One or Two, and Matching, students move on to Spelling Sliders, which allows students to manipulate the words on the Promethean Board and drag them in their correct order to form learned phrases. Jibber Jabber allows students to have a conversation in french - it may be done whole group, individually, or in pairs. Following this, is a slide that allows the class to review and close the lesson. Last, is an individual journal activity, where the teacher can have students complete one or both of the given journal prompts.

*The suggested grade level of this lesson varies on the students’ prior knowledge of the French language. In my opinion, it is suitable for grades 1-6, but students above or below these grades may also benefit, depending on prior knowledge and concepts. Please read description of lesson, and review thumbnails and preview to determine if this lesson is appropriate for your French students.
