What educators are saying

This is such a great cheat sheet! I copied this onto yellow paper to make it stand out at the front of my students' folders and they found it very helpful to use as reference during class. Merci!
My stronger students found this very helpful. Lots of their questions could be answered by looking at this document which saves me time to help the others.

Description

Confession time. I am a grammar nerd. It goes against everything I do as a teacher, but I love it and it's how I learned French.

Now I teach using TPRS with whole language chunks and rarely do any explicit grammar teaching other than the prescribed popup grammar when a student is curious or when it makes sense.

It's what works for most of my students who aren't grammar nerds. BUT ... some of my kids feed into a grammar-based program when they leave me and some of my current students, (the ones who learn like me), are sponges of all things grammar. Ok ... maybe only a few a year ...

That's why I created this French Grammar Reference Guide. I give it to all of the students leaving my program and all of the mini-me's.

I also give them my French Verbs cheat sheet and they eat it up. I have students come back to visit me and tell me, "Mr. Wood, I wouldn't survive French this year without your cheat sheets." They would survive, but it makes me happy that it's useful.

I also hope it's useful to you. I know it doesn't include everything, but it has the basics, especially for beginning students. Included are Nouns, Articles (definite, indefinite, partitive), subject pronouns, interrogative pronouns (how to ask a question), adjectives and cardinal & ordinal numbers. The preview should show you everything in the final product.

It is a two page reference card that can be printed and copied double sided, hole punched and even laminated if you like. I have included the color version and a toner-friendly black & white version if you prefer.

Long live grammar nerds!
