Keep your French language students engaged in their "vêtements" learning while doing authentic on-line shopping at 3 major French department stores including Galeries Lafayette in Paris, France! A variety of scenarios in this webquest are given to buy the clothes they need for this internet activity: aller au cinéma, faire du camping, aller au chalet, aller à la maison d’un ami, aller à une danse, faire du sport, aller à une aventure en plein air, and choisir une tenue de rêve.
This activity fits in well when teaching a unit about clothing and clothing styles! I have made charts to be filled in by the students for each “theme” listed and they must complete the charts with the following information: Vêtement, Marque, Taille, Description, and Prix.
A one-page ORAL marketplace activity has now been added to this product.
You will also find a link to a “size conversion” chart for European clothing and shoe sizes along with a link to “currency conversion”. This will help the students decide whether a particular piece of clothing is more than they would like to spend for it or not. You can decide whether you will give students a set amount of fictional euros to spend or not. I have also included a list of “vocabulaire” for the students to use while shopping on the site to help them navigate the main topic areas.
Also included are teacher directions & ideas, a page and a half of vocabulary, a French information page about the 3 department stores & 3 planning pages for what the students will be shopping for before they begin.
