French Class Emergency Sub Plans | For Canada | Grade 4 to 9

Take all the worry and stress out of creating sub plans in the middle of a disaster with this print and use set of plans to get your supply teacher through 150-200 minutes of French class instruction even if they don't speak a word of French. Put your mind at ease while you're out of the classroom handling life.

Ninja Note: These sub plans are to cover FSL or French classes where students are beginning to learn French. This product is not intended for French Immersion classes.

This life-saving product includes:

• 150-200 minutes worth of activities along with some extra activities just in case.
• editable pages with instructions to set up a supply teacher binder that can be used all year long. Suggestions on how to handle multiple groups of students working on various schedules are included.
• a fun theme of Canadian inventions.
• detailed instructions for your supply teacher for all the activities (so any sub should be able to follow along). The plans are in English in case you cannot find a French speaking supply teacher.
• background information about French language skills just in case the teacher needs it.
• student pages with English instructions so they can work independently while you're away.
• answer keys or suggested answers.
• Word work, reading, writing and extension activities for students that are just beginning to learn French.
• some of the activities can be enhanced with access to the Internet.
• activities to keep your French learners busy.

These lessons were designed to align with:

• the Alberta Program of Studies FSL for Grade 4-9

These lessons support:

• any upper elementary French class with students who can already read basic English.
• French Canadian French is used. See the note below.

And in case you need substitute teacher plans for your English speaking classroom:

• Emergency Sub Plans Grades 4-6 Sticky Situations (2 more days with a different theme, but you won't have to set up your sub binder again).
• Emergency Sub Plans Grades 4-6 Hoaxes and Ogopogos (2 more days with a different theme, but you won't have to set up your sub binder again).
• Emergency Sub Plans Grade 3-4 Video Games (2 more days with a different theme, but you won't have to set up your sub binder again. These activities are slightly lower reading and number skill levels. They will still work for grades 4-6, but the work is a little simpler).
