What educators are saying

I have found many students struggle with fraction operations. I found this to be a challenging fraction operations practice.

Description

Fraction Operations Pyramid Sum Puzzle

Students will practice adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions with this Pyramid Sum Puzzle activity. This includes positive and negative fractions. This is a challenging activity! In total, students will need to complete 25 fraction operations.

Simply give each student the template and set of problems. They evaluate each expression, cut out the boxes, then paste them onto the template so that each solution is the sum of the two solutions directly above it. See the preview for more detailed directions and photos. Actual answers not shown in the cover photo above!

This activity works very well in conjunction with my Pre-Algebra Real Numbers Unit.
