What educators are saying

I love these posters! I really like how they have the punctuation on the posters. This really helped the students to understand the different punctuations, when to use them, and apply it to the different types of sentences.
My students love this resource! It keeps them engaged and allows them to practice this skill as needed. Thank you for creating this resource.

Description

These engaging chevron posters will help your students remember the four types of sentences in either advanced or basic terms.

Each poster comes with the term in a unique color, the definition, the ending punctuation needed, an example sentence, and cute punctuation clip art telling then what type of ending punctuation is needed.

Advanced terms include:
- Declarative
- Interrogative
- Exclamatory
- Imperative

Basic terms include:
- Statement
- Question
- Exclamation
- Command

Full-color and Black & White versions are available for each poster.

A sorting activity is available for both basic & advanced terms that allows for practice. There are 12 sentences to sort along with four *EDITABLE* sentence cards for you to type in your own to suit your class' needs.

Use these in a center, for small-group reinforcement, or a whole-class lesson... there are loads of possibilities!

This packet addresses the following Common Core State Standards:
- CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.3.2 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
