What educators are saying

I used this resource as a fun activity day. My students were fully engaged and worked in teams to solve the mystery. It was challenging as they had to made decisions and draw conclusions. The answer wasn't obvious.

Description

FULL DIGITAL Edition of our Code Crackers - 6 Mini Mysteries.

Easy as 1, 2, 3... No printing, no cutting, and no laminating. Easy prep of upload to your secured digital e-platform and assign to your students. We have provided both PDF and PowerPoint versions for your choice of delivery. PowerPoints are editable as to provide you the option of adjusting the instructions. Warning: do not change details or other facts of the crimes (including names of suspect) as it will invalidate the codes.

Designed to stimulate critical thinking, deductive reasoning, and teamwork, student work as the lead detective to sort evidence and decipher the code for each of the 6 case files. Activity is totally digital and does not provide any printed evidence cards or worksheets. Detective use digital files only and link to a Google coded form to verify they have Cracked the Code. You can request from your detectives the "Verification Code" from the final Code Crack Verification site as proof.

Alternatively, you may chose to create a digital entry form in your school's secured E-platform (ex: Blackboard, Canvas, Schoology, etc) and use the answer key to set up the correct answers for your student's success without using the Google Verification site. All 24 Evidence cards have been included as individual PNG files for use in your secured E-platform, if desired.

Great opening activity for a forensic unit, fun back to school activity to excite the kids about learning, or a Fun Friday activity. No specific forensic science skills needed.
