Anthropology Case Study - Reading & Questions

    Description

Estimating the Post Mortem Interval, estimating time of death, and learning the roles of the Medical Examiner, this unit will help your students engage in the field of Forensic Science. If you are struggling to create a creative, engaging unit about Death Investigations and Forensic Pathology, look no further! I started teaching Forensic Science in 2014 and spent many years creating my own unit objectives, lessons, activities, and authentic assessments. The pace, layout, and case studies are all included in this unit for high school forensic science.

This is my favorite unit to teach in forensic science! I always teach this unit so the students learn the role of the medical examiner, how to determine mechanism, cause and manner of death, and estimate time since death.

This unit bundle includes 11 products! You will receive the following items:

    1. Time of death "cheat sheet" I always have students use as they work through estimating time since death

    2. Forensic pathology Roles of the Medical Examiner slideshow

    3. Forensic pathology Guided Notes

    4. Estimating Time of Death Scenarios

    5. Forensic student activity: Identifying the mechanism, cause and manner of death

    6. Virtual Autopsy Lab Guided Student Questions

    7. Forensic Entomology Lab Investigation (using pipe cleaner "bugs" for easy, low-cost set up!)

    8. Death Investigation Case Study: Murder of Annamarie Rintala Case Study: The 2010 Murder Slideshow

    9. Death Investigation Case Study: Murder of Annamarie Rintala Case Study: The 2010 Murder Student Worksheet

    10. "When Did She Die?" Time of Death Creative Assessment

    11. Forensic Pathology/Death Investigation Unit Exam with Teacher Answer Key

If you teach this unit in the order listed above, you will find success in your forensic science classroom. The lessons are student-centered, easily implemented in any forensic science class, and providing authentic assessments to assess student knowledge.
