What educators are saying

This unit was so much fun! My students really got into making their football fields and gathering their data. Awesome resource!
This was really engaging for my class this past year. They were a large group of competitive students so making a sports STEM lesson fun was what they enjoyed!

Description

Super Bowl STEM Football Challenge! Looking for something to get your kids excited about learning during football season or during Super Bowl week. Engage your students with STEM Football Challenges, it also connects to Mike Lupic's book Million-Dollar Throw! STEM Football includes football terms, history of football, STEM Challenge, and a lap book that your students will love! The lap book is a great way for students to keep themselves accountable for their reading and to help them stay on task during literature groups. Students can use these during the group discussions. The open-ended prompts also help students reflect on what they have read.

Students plan, design, engineer, and collect data as they are having fun designing a football field and goal post. Students collect data as they kick their footballs for field goals. This activity can also be used for STEAM Activities, Maker Spaces, Tinkering Labs, Summer Programs, or After School Clubs.
