This BOOM CARDS™ activity helps you target language and audition goals such as following directions, description, and verbs with your students in speech therapy. The cookies theme is relatable and engaging, and the varying levels allow you to differentiate the activity for students of many ages.
Making "virtual" sugar cookies of various holiday shapes is a new and fun way for your students to work on following directions and other concepts! The deck begins with a versatile language activity– the step-by-step of making cookies from start (adding ingredients to the bowl) to finish (frosting the cookies).
The rest of the cards target following directions at TWO LEVELS of difficulty. Students add frosting to cookies of different shapes (by dragging and dropping).
- 10 cards target 1-step (2-element) directions such as "Put yellow frosting on the tree."
- 10 cards target 2-step (4-element) directions, such as "Put orange frosting on the egg and green frosting on the snowman."
To help with quick navigation and differentiation:
- THE LEVELS allow you to meet your students where they are and challenge them as needed.
- AUDIO RECORDINGS of each direction are included for each direction.
- There is an option to COVER THE TEXT (for students that are able to read).
- The ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE ACTIVITY at the beginning of the deck gives you the flexibility to target expanding utterances, sequencing, past tense verbs, and more!
