    Description

Are your students not listening or struggling to follow your directions? Do your occupational therapy students need practice with handwriting or reading and following written directions? Use these no-prep, follow the directions coloring page worksheets to promote fine motor, handwriting, listening, and reading skills. Perfect for addressing challenges in listening comprehension, handwriting, and visual-motor coordination, these no-prep worksheets provide engaging activities for speech sessions, occupational therapy activities, special education lessons, morning work, earlier finishers, and more. Your students will enhance their direction-following skills by completing coloring pages based on step-by-step oral or written instructions. The teacher-led oral direction pages can be easily modified into engaging lessons for following 2-step or multistep directions or instructions. The bundle covers various themes, including Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, transportation, general themes, Back to School, and Community helpers.

Encourage a fingertip grasp with shortened crayons and pencils, promoting optimal motor skills during coloring, drawing, or writing activities.

The bundle offers more than 150 of direction following activities in three coloring page styles—one with separate directions for reading aloud and the other with directions directly on the page for independent reading, as well as one where students write their own directions.

Elevate the challenge by combining two directions into multi-step tasks, fostering advanced listening skills.

Make learning enjoyable with additional gross motor brain breaks, incorporating exercises like squats or jumps after each direction. Whether in small groups, the whole classroom, or occupational therapy sessions, these versatile worksheets are perfect for honing receptive language, following directions, and other essential listening and reading skills. Turn reading comprehension into an engaging journey with this Following Directions Bundle!

What is Included in the Following Directions Packets?

    This digital download includes:

    • Two styles of coloring pages – one has directions on a separate page that can be read to the group by an adult or peer, the other has the directions on the page for students to read and complete.
    • There are five styles of each design.

Directions are one step, but you can easily add a step to the listening directions.

*** New Updates will include a 3rd style where students write their own directions for peers to follow.

Want to Extend or Change the Activity?

Make it a gross motor brain break by adding an exercise after each direction.  “Circle the tree then do 10 squats.” or “Draw 2 clouds in the sky then do 10 jumps.”

Consider changing my directions for more of a challenge.  “Color the tree blue.” or “Draw a hat on the dog.”

When Is a Good Time to Use the Directions Packets?

These NO PREP worksheets can be printed for the classroom or sent home for reading comprehension practice. Use these packets during:

    • small group special education instruction
    • whole classroom activity
    • an occupational therapy session to work on listening skills and visual motor skills
    • Speech therapy to work on directions
