Description
This is similar to my other Following Directions listing, but without use of manipulatives...the images are included on every page! I use it when my brain really can't think on the spot to use manipulatives and give directions and monitor their responses. This is all done for you and is neatly categorized by the Level, Skill, etc., from the CELF-5.
I can NEVER think of directions in the moment during therapy, let alone remember/know whether I am doing No Orientation, Serial Order Orientation, No Modifier, One Modifier, or Two Modifiers. And who can remember to do right/left orientation?!
Over 500 directions...use with all levels of kids and throughout the whole school year.
All 15+ 'types' of directions assessed in the Clinical Evaluation of Language Fundamentals - 5 (CELF-5) and listed in the Following Directions Item Analysis, including:
No orientation
1-step
2-step
3-step
4-step
Serial Order / Orientation
1-step
2-step
3-step
4-step
Left / Right Orientation
1-step
2-step
3-step
4-step
No modifier
One Modifier
Two modifiers
I got tired of having to find, print, laminate, and cut out all kinds of different activities for Following Directions. I honestly couldn't remember which were 1-step or 3-step or if I was including a modifier or not.
I put these in page protectors (I like the flipped text version that's included) and use them throughout the entire school year. No prep or planning, I just pull them from the shelf.
*More engaging than the CELF-5 directions or those like it. These include basic nouns as the images (instead of just shapes) as well as colors (instead of black or white).
(This is my favorite Following Directions listing the best. Since I don't have to create the directions or manipulate items, I can focus on the cueing and teaching of the skills.)
I included two versions---one regular version & one with the text flipped so you can read it while the student looks at the images!
Use this forever.
Also, follow me! It's a system. I'm creating tasks for each skill of every sub-test and Item Analysis skill of the CELF-5. That way, I can just Assess, complete the Item Analysis, and pull the tasks straight from my shelf.
