Description

Do your students need practice reading a story and identifying story elements including the plot, the setting, and the theme? This engaging activity puts a fun spin on identifying these plot elements. These two foldable activities can be used with ANY fiction book. It can be completed as a during-reading activity or as a post-reading activity to give students an opportunity to reflect upon the book. The foldables can also be inserted into interactive notebooks for future reference. This is an activity that can be used multiple times during the school year!

HERE'S WHAT YOU GET:

  • A foldable activity called "A Story Snapshot"- This version contains 9 different panels. Students will identify the setting, theme, and plot (exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution) of the book or story they have read. They also get to make some final judgments about the story.
  • A foldable activity called "A Lot About PLOT"- This version contains 6 different panels. Students will identify only plot elements (exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution) of the book or story they have read.
  • Student-friendly instructions (with photos!!) that detail exactly how to assemble each foldable
  • Directions for taping this foldable into an interactive notebook
  • Additional notes for the teacher with explanations on how to prepare the booklet and materials that must be gathered.
