Description
**Fly Swatter Music Game**
This game is TONS of fun! I've done this with every grade K-5 and every student has asked to play it again! With 80 rhythm flies plus blank flies so you can write your own rhythms, there's a game appropriate for everyone. The game is simple – spot the rhythm, swat the fly, and be the player with the most flies at the end of the game!
Game Details
2+ players, plus facilitator
Ages: 6+
2-6+ minutes, depending on how many flies you use
Additional Required Materials: Fly swatters for each player. I recommend these rainbow swatters from Amazon! (Not an affiliate link)
Objective: Have the most flies at the end of the game!
Game Play:
The teacher or facilitator claps a rhythm found on one of the flies. Players
quickly find the fly with the corresponding rhythm and swat it! The first player to swat the correct fly takes the fly and puts it to their side, holding it until the end of the game. The game continues with players collecting flies until all the flies are collected or until time runs out (you may set a timer for however long you would like the game to be, if you wish).
At the end of the game, players count their flies. Whoever has the most flies at the end of the game wins!
This game includes:
* 80 Rhythm Flies, plus blank flies
* Rhythms include ta/titi/rest (Quarter and Eighth Notes), tika-tika (16th Notes), taa (Half Notes), Syncopa, Ti-tika, Tika-ti, Ti-tam, Tam-ti, Tim-ka, and Ti-kam
