Description

Introducing Orthographic Mapping, an essential tool for beginning or struggling readers. Our innovative approach allows you to teach phoneme-grapheme mapping effectively using our interactive worksheets, a pop it toy, and phoneme cards. This resource focuses on the double consonant floss rule and includes worksheets, partner games, and phonemic awareness center activities.

Here's how it works:

1. Students start by saying the word aloud.

2. They then stretch out the word and break it down into individual sounds.

3. Counting the sounds, students press the corresponding buttons on a pop it toy to represent each sound.

4. To reinforce learning, students color the sounds on their pop it model on the recording sheet.

5. Armed with the knowledge of how many sounds are in the word, students proceed to map the word using letters. As students write and spell each sound, the teacher will TEACH any tricky spelling combinations.

6. They blend the sounds back together and read the word aloud.

7. Finally, students practice writing the word on handwriting lines. Remember to blend and read the word one final time.
