What educators are saying

This is an amazing set of practice questions. The scores I was able to achieve were definitely helped by using this resource as a review.

Description

This practice test includes 61 B.E.S.T type questions. It has been created based on Florida’s Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. The questions are based on the Florida Grade 8 Mathematics Test Item Specifications for 2023/2024.

Practice Test is ten pages long in PDF format with key.

This is a must have for every 8th grade math teacher in the State of Florida. Help your students score better on the Florida’s Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking Assessment by focusing in on the actual content that will be tested.

Compatibility: For optimal use, I highly recommend printing this resource. While digital tools can be incredibly useful in many contexts, some of the questions in this resource involve tasks that are best completed with a pen or pencil and paper. Printed versions of the resource provide students with the physical space they need to work through these tasks and fully engage with the material.

Verify experimentally the properties of rotations, reflections, and translations:
Construct and interpret scatter plots for bivariate measurement data to investigate patterns of association between two quantities. Describe patterns such as clustering, outliers, positive or negative association, linear association, and nonlinear association.
Know that numbers that are not rational are called irrational. Understand informally that every number has a decimal expansion; for rational numbers show that the decimal expansion repeats eventually, and convert a decimal expansion which repeats eventually into a rational number.
Know and apply the properties of integer exponents to generate equivalent numerical expressions. For example, 3² × (3⁻⁵) = (3⁻³) = 1/3³ = 1/27.
Understand that a function is a rule that assigns to each input exactly one output. The graph of a function is the set of ordered pairs consisting of an input and the corresponding output.
