Description

This lively song is well-known in English and I found an animated Japanese version on YouTube. A link is provided in the resources.

It is a counting song with monkeys jumping on a bed and then falling off one by one. The verses are repetitive so are readily learned by even young students.

Song charts for each verse are included and could be displayed using a data projector/IWB or printed to make a song book. I have made 2 versions
1. hiragana and kanji/katakana with furigana
2. roomaji

In addition to the song, three craft activities are explained and steps to make them are shown with photos. Templates are included.

As 2016 is the Oriental Year of the Monkey, teachers may like to introduce the song then.

However, the song is catchy and the craft items make it fun for students to sing along with, so the song can be taught any time!
