Description

Your students will "GO BANANAS!" for this great cross-curricular activity. This engaging, fun activity blends, music, reading, art/crafts, story retelling and math! Students put together the elements of the story (5 monkeys, a bed, the text and a cell phone) so that they can easily retell the story. Also included is a math element (a mat with the subtraction sentence: ____- 1 = ____, and number cards 0-5) so students can build subtraction sentences as each monkey falls off the bed. I have also included a matching game for the number words zero - five and the numerals 0-5 and flash cards for all high frequency words in the story (based on Fry's first 100 high frequency words). This activity is great for helping students learn early subtraction concepts, build story retelling skills and is super for your ELD kiddos.
