Description
Your PE, Health and Work Education students will love exploring these first aid worksheets using Check, Call, Care scenarios to practice their first aid skills, and then test their knowledge with the formative 15 question Easel assessment quiz.
First aid scenarios are a great way for your students in Health, PE, FACS and Work Education programs in upper primary through to secondary grades to practice their first aid knowledge and skills using Check, Call, Care.
These first aid worksheets use the check, call, care approach which guides students through the steps to use when providing first aid in an emergency or in managing a minor injury or illness.
- Check - the scene and the person
- Call - for help
- Care - provide first aid if needed and if it is safe to do so
These colorful first aid worksheets include scenarios which help students apply their knowledge and encourage them to use critical thinking to decide how to respond. Print and share the scenarios with pairs or small groups or use the digital version to support online or remote learning. Use the scenarios as the basis for discussion, problem-solving and reinforcement of key skills then use the formative assessment quiz to test student knowledge and understanding.
Scenarios are explained simply and are accompanied by a scene-setting real photo prompt - perfect for lower ability readers or ESL / Life Skills students. There is a space on each card for students to record their ideas about how they would respond.
Scenarios include simple, easy-to-solve problems as well as more complex challenges requiring call for emergency assistance. Some scenarios can be used for a research task online so that students can report their findings back to the class or group.
First aid scenarios include:
- trip and fall
- spider bite
- splinter
- crush injury
- gash
- poisoning
- heat stroke
- strain
- near-drowning
- choking
- burn
- bruised finger
- unconscious patient
- lower limb fracture
Format and content are appropriate for middle and high school students, as well as teen and adult learners in ESL, Life Skills and Community Programs.
