First Grade Summer Review (Common Core Aligned)

Do you have parents coming to you asking for resources to work with their child over the summer? Does your school require that you send home summer work with your students? Are you tutoring or teaching summer school? Are you totally freaked your kids will forget all your hard work this year?! If you answered yes to any of these questions, this review pack might be just what you're looking for!

This review pack is intended for First Graders going into Second Grade. It is organized as an 8 week program. Each week contains an overview and checklist, making it both manageable for parents and ensuring that they will stay on track! The overview explains the skills their child will be reviewing that week, along with helpful tips and suggestions.

Each activity in this pack is aligned to a First Grade Common Core standard. Although it is not intended to cover any one standard in depth, it does at least touch on (almost) ALL of the core standards. Each week includes a review page with the following sections:
1. Phonics
2. Read for Meaning (includes original fiction and nonfiction passages written by me, to target the Reading Literature and Reading Informational Text standards)
3. Grammar and Vocabulary
4. Writing
5. Math
6. Math Facts
7. Weekly Skill Check (10 mixed review skills, reading and math)

The pack also includes an explanation letter for parents, book, website, and iPad app recommendations, additional ideas for helping students at home, and a certificate of completion.
