What educators are saying

I love these comprehension sheets! They offer different ways to answer questions about the text, and they are great readers. My students enjoy the little stories and are starting to go back to find answers too!
This has been a great addition to our small group time. Having a passage that is an appropriate grade level text has been great. My students were doing very well with decodables but needed to be pushed a bit with more challenging grade level text. A great resource!

Description

This reading comprehension packet is designed to help students work toward the goals of carefully reading Levels E and F text and thoughtfully answering comprehension questions.

This resource is set up as a Perfect Pairing for TpT School Access (the subscription program specifically for schools). The passages are generally appropriate for use in the fall of first grade.

To provide flexibility, for use in distance learning and/or a classroom setting, the following options are offered:

1) A link for use in Google Slides

2) A link to a document with a JPEG image of each page

3) Printable, in full color, as a traditional PDF

4) An ink-saving black and white printable version

Thirty passages are included, 15 for Level E and 15 for Level F. With each passage, there are four text-based multiple choice questions.

As students find the evidence that supports their answers, they participate in their very first close reading lessons.

With each passage, there is also a page prompting students to write sentences about pictures related to the passage.

A bonus page of written response questions is included with a few of these passages.

These passages are useful for distance learning, small group work, choral reading, fluency work, intervention sessions, morning work, homework, and/or literacy centers.

Each page is presented both in color and in an ink saving black and white version.
