Fine Motor Pencil Grip and Scissor Grip for Handwriting and Scissor Practice

Help students improve their cutting and writing skills using these fine motor skills posters. They cover both pencil grip and scissor grip and can be used both at home or in the classroom. Print them out and laminate them for durability on the wall.

The Pencil Grip sheet includes a visual and three directions for a proper pencil grip:

• “Pinchy fingers” (thumb and pointer finger) hold at the bottom of the pencil
• Top of the pencil rests between these two fingers on your hand
• Middle of middle finger helps to hold the pencil up

The Scissor Grip sheet includes a visual and three directions for a proper scissor grip:

• Thumb through the small top hole
• Index finger holding the bottom of scissors
• Last three fingers through the big bottom hole

Both parent info sheets includes related fine motor activities.
