What educators are saying

I used this activity for a transition plan. Together, we completed the table. I did offer acceptable options to choose from so the student wasn't going on their own to find a house/apartment.
I needed a quick activity for my students to do with a sub that would cover what we were talking about in class and keep them engaged. They loved this!

Description

This resource will help you prepare your students for independent living! There are three parts to this activity - first, students will find a realistic apartment where they could live after high school. Max price is set at $1,000/month for rent, but this can be edited by the teacher! Students have to note certain facts about their listing, like the address, rent, laundry status, etc.

The next part of the activity asks them to check out buying a house. This has no dollar limit, since it is a "dream house." Students will have a blast looking up fancy mansions in exotic locations for this part of the activity. They also have to note certain facts about the listing.

Lastly, I have added a blank questionnaire where you, the teacher, can simply drop in a link to a listing of your choosing and students are asked to pull information from that listing.
