- PowerPoint Presentation Fill-In-The-Blank Notes -
Notes are spatially pleasing and organized to provide the ultimate student-friendly guide to learning a new skill. Notes layout was designed with two options: 1) notes can be kept in packet form or 2) they can be cut out and glued into notebooks- they are sized to be able to fit into composition notebooks.
Notes are scaffolded:
+ Starts with full instructions reviewing how to complete each step of the process
+ Practice problems 1 & 2 - provided with multiples lines and each fraction is separated into two columns to provide space for organized work
+ Practice problems 3 & 4 - no multiples lines but each fraction is still separated into two columns to provide space for organized work
+ Practice problems 5 & 6 - no multiples lines and fractions are provided together, somewhat like students would see on a typical common denominators worksheet.

Each worksheet is 2-sided and provides 8 practice problems.
Directions are stated clearly and there is space for students to complete the work for each problem right on the worksheet, if desired.
- Task Cards -
Students can use this as independent practice, partner work, or early finisher work.
- 12 of the 24 cards require students to just find the common denominator of two fractions.
- The other 12 task cards require students to not only find the common denominator, but also the two equivalent fractions that can be made with the common denominator.

HOW DO I USE IT?
- PowerPoint Presentation -
Download to your computer (it is already in a PowerPoint file format) and present!
- PowerPoint Presentation Fill-In-The-Blank Notes -
Print and copy for students in packet format. My suggestion would be to have students complete their note packets first, and if you want them to transfer the notes into their notebooks, have them cut out & glue once they are all completed.
- Set of (3) Practice Worksheets -
Simply download, print, and go! Copies can be made so that worksheets are double-sided.
- Task Cards -
Print out task cards (in color preferably), cut into separate cards, and laminate if desired. You may also choose to hole-punch each card and keep them organized on a binder ring for easy use. Students working with the cards should have a blank copy of the recording sheet to keep track of their answers.
- Assessment -
Simply download, print, and go! Copies can be made so that the assessment is double-sided.
