Film Hook: "Soul"
- Word Document File
Description
A film hook is an opportunity for students to strengthen their comprehension of Common Core State Standards.
How does it work?
A film hook is a movie that is segmented into ten to fifteen minute timestamps. Each film hook assessment has a timestamp, so the teacher can easily navigate to each viewing session.
After viewing a film hook, the students complete an assessment. This assessment includes plot elements, figurative language, vocabulary, language development, and making inferences in written and multiple choice format.
Lastly, a film hook is a great accommodation for strengthening Common Core State Standards. For instance, a teacher can make a film hook reference, when a student gets stuck on an English or reading assignment.
Why not give it a try?
