Description

Figurative Language Series:
Analyzing & Interpreting Song Lyrics [60+ Pages]

Product/Materials Preface [Grades 5-12]

My product provides countless graphic organizers to help students learn various forms of figurative language by analyzing and interpreting their favorite song lyrics. Music is the language of the soul; and by helping students makes real world connections to something that is so near to their hearts, they will definitely be enthusiastic and motivated to learn figurative language.

My graphic organizers provide an in-depth focus on Imagery, Metaphors, Similes, Personification, and Hyperbole. There are even templates where you can assign or have students chose what form of figurative language to work on. I have also provided 6 colorful, song lyric profile cards that function as modeled exemplars. You can even use these exemplars as posters.

Lastly, there is also a multitude of MP3 Player style bulletin board tags that can be used for students’ names or specific song lyrics. Use your imagination! I will be adding some Tri-Folds in the near future.

My graphic organizers are well thought visual aids that will help students organize data. The organizers also provide a visually pleasing space for students’ responses. This will prepare them well and assure you are increasing rigor and the classroom and incorporating the Common Core.
